Ill Starred Captain are a dynamic two piece band hailing from Port Lincoln on the West Coast of SA, “who have in the fifteen years of their existence, utterly transcended both their humble indie origins and the accepted limitations of what a singer / guitarist and drummer can sound like”. Scott Bassham (guitar/vocals) & Justin Francis (drums) have spent over a decade on the road honing their sound and gathering a passionate fan base from around the world. They have proven themselves to be one of Australia’s more resilient and creative bands, which kick a brand of fold/punk/surfadelic sound leaving crowds in awe that they are only a two piece outfit. In actuality it goes well beyond easy categorization, with strong threads of blues, roots, funk and sheer rock and roll power grooves running through the mix.
